How verification works
Every specialist goes through a rigorous five-step process before their profile goes live.
GMC registration check
Every specialist is verified against the General Medical Council's live register. Only fully licensed, practising doctors appear on HollaMeds.
DBS enhanced disclosure
All specialists complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before listing. Results are reviewed by our clinical governance team.
Indemnity insurance verification
We confirm active professional indemnity insurance with recognised providers such as MDU, MPS, or MDDUS — protecting patients if something goes wrong.
Credential review
Qualifications, fellowships, and specialist training are reviewed against the relevant Royal College records before a profile goes live.
Ongoing monitoring
Verification isn't a one-time event. We re-check GMC status and indemnity annually, and any lapse triggers an immediate profile suspension.
Aligned with NHS standards
HollaMeds is designed to complement, not compete with, the NHS. Many of our specialists also hold NHS consultant posts — bringing the same clinical rigour to private practice.
